As a librarian, topics surrounding information literacy are an important part of the field. One of the ways in which these issues present themselves culturally is through the role of conspiratorial thinking in politics and society. Although conspiracy theories have been a part of American culture since its inception, they have become more visible in the last several years. My research in this field revolves around questions of conspiracy theory and its intersections with popular culture, religiosity and extremist thought.
My secondary area of expertise is in the field of death studies. Death studies is an interdisciplinary field of research that analyses death-related attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors. Its aim is to better understand death as an individual and cultural phenomenon. Specifically, my research explores the areas of memory/memorialization, grief and the question of digital afterlives.
